HudSight - crosshair overlay

HudSight - crosshair overlay

I broke it
I was adding crosshairs from assorted crosshair packs I found online and noticed that a Hello Kitty crosshair image had a flaw where the artist left a pixel out of place. I opened the png file in a paint program, erased the stray pixel, saved it as transparent and then added the redone crosshair as a custom image (as I have done many times already).

This broke the application. Now when I open HudSight, it opens in a massive enlarged screen with the Hello Kitty crosshair image magnified and none of the buttons or features work. I can't use the pull-down menu to change the Custom Image or even switch to one of the two stock sights. I can't get the boxes to uncheck at the bottom, I can't even resize the window. It's a mess. I also cannot get rid of my settings to just start over.

I have tried verifying the integrity of the files; uninstalling HudSight through Steam; uninstalling HudSight from Apps & features -- I also deleted the HudSight text file in Documents thinking hopefully it held the preferences but it changed nothing. As far as I can tell, I have removed all traces of the application.

I even went so far as to re-download the stand-alone HudSight and run the trial and the trial version even opens with the massive window with the Hello Kitty sight.

I now cannot use the program, which is a shame. I used the trial for a few short days last week when I saw it was coming to Steam on January 5th. I eagerly counted the days until I could buy it. I already knew I liked it since I had the trial. This is also the only crosshair overlay program which works in full screen and not just windowed mode. I was really enjoying the creativity of my own custom crosshairs.

Close the program, open folder C:\ProgramData\HudSight (not program files!)
Delete config.json file and start the program to reset all settings to default.

I appreciate the quick reply. When I did a search for "HudSight" on my C Drive that folder never resulted.

ProgramData is a hidden folder. Luckily, I already have hidden folders as visible with ownership since I find myself needing to view the contents of ProgramData and AppData often. Deleting only that single file didn't make a difference but deleting the entire folder did. Thank you.

Deleting the entire folder is a second stage of "magic" :)
