Is the new content even worth it?
Title
Just by loading into my 100%(before the patch) game on hard, i only found 2 new side quests and capsule machines, which are absolutely uselss and pointless.
Reading through achievement descriptions doesnt help either, it all sounds and looks extremely tedious and boring.
So, has anyone already played around with the new content? Whats the consensus?

C'mon now, Gashapon is a BIG deal, gotta catch them all:lunar2019grinningpig:. Game went from like a B tier to S++ tier now.

The middle school quest is actually pretty decent, almost stands up to some of the main missions in terms of quality and by far some of the scariest moments ive had in the game.

Haven't dived too deep into the other quest but its essentially finding locations from a photograph.

There's a few new locations added to the world, I believe, I found two new interior locations.

The Spider's Thread is just a roguelite challenge mode akin to like The Summit from Division 2, you clear rooms with different objectives, go back to a hub and upgrade and so on. It's okay, not the best.

All in all, if you didn't like the base game, it's gonna be hard to bring you back for just this update as it'll still be fairly disappointing.

Yeah, the base game was only good in terms of presentation, it does look and feel like Japan, especially considering that I'm in Japan rn, so i actually have something to compare most of the stuff in-game. But the gameplay is boring, yup.
I don't understand how they went from the evil within, to this

And again, most of the trippy sequences shows how capable the devs are. Sad

i agree that the content is fairly stale outside of a generic open world collectathon but to give credit where credit is due, this is by far one of the most impressive games I've ever seen in terms of atmosphere and worldbuilding, the virtual tourism of this game far outsells its actual status as a video game.

My greatest complaints would be how bad the camera movements are both with mouse and controller. Absolutely terrible with no way to work around it, other than just tolerating it

okay, so far, it seems like they've learned nothing and decided to double down on the worst aspects of the game.
I especially hate new enemies. Wait for ages for these ♥♥♥♥♥ to stop hiding only to get attack window of all of half a second. Wow, what a ♥♥♥♥.

I believe the devs said the main reason for making this game was to make a super detailed Tokyo, so it doesn't surprise me the gameplay is sub-standard. Also Shinji Mikami left TG and the studio wants to make their own titles which he highly encouraged so i honestly wouldn't expect TEW3 or anything near that quality from them again. Seems like this new team is going a completely different direction which seems to value map/design/graphics over gameplay.

Okay, gotta give credit where it's due, the school sidequest is really good, shame its on a short side, but it easily could've been a main quest in terms of quality, if they've made it a bit longer

The section where Gutsy follows you relentlessly had me a little creeped out at times.

its just an SCP 173, but that ♥♥♥♥ is much more relentless than an SCP counterpart + he makes gnarly noises.

So it’s like some of the stuff in the base game, some solid stuff in a sea of generic fluff.

It’s cool, but if you want something substantial the yakuza series handles that better.

btw, most of the boss coffee drinks that you'd have in kiwami 2 or yakuza 6, are ♥♥♥♥

Okay? The drink most use in those games are stamina drinks if anything.
