Tanuki Prosperity Charm missing?

Found 5 tanuki, got a message saying I something about the charm but it's not in my Key Items nor can I have two buffs.

Am I supposed to claim it somewhere or receive it straight away?

You get them straight away. They're in your items, like last tab of the inventory I think(?) is where they're listed. They're passive and don't need equipping.

It didn't update and appear in the inventory until the next time I picked up a key item... I was looking in Key Items under Database not Items in Inventory.
On a side note, what temporary buff is it referring to? It definitely can't mean the omikuji (spelling?) that you roll at shrines because I can only have one of those.

Think they apply to all buffs, be them the stick blessings/curse or the foods you eat. By default in the early game you can only have one buff and for maybe 30 seconds tops? But more charms can let ya have more buffs active, and for much longer.
