Can't say shadowbane is going to share the same fate if they don't do anything with server stability and cash shop by then (at the moment cash shop is useless for both players and devs, does nothing but scare away new players - has huge prices but those items aren't worth the price. It's a good thing that the game is not p2w yet a new player will just see that you can buy SOMETHING for 150$ and uninstall right away).
But if they do change the cash shop before making it f2p, that's a whole another story. And no emu will ever be able to compete with something that's free to play on steam and is installed in one click.
Changeyou isn't doing themselves any favors using worst map in shadowbane's history either. They need Aerynth ASAP do away with this garbo mapset currently.
Dalgoth with more zones, proper runegate system and 2x guards is great though.
+1
For Aerynth.
I like that it doesn't try to refine down other elements of the game in order to make things speed up which happened with later maps. Shadowbane has a lot of functioning organic parts which don't need tweaking. Conflict doesn't need to be forced, it happens well enough on it's own.
Larger mapsets offer more building options because at the end of the day, where trees go does and should matter. Might seem stupid but some folks put some hard thought into where they drop their seed. Been a city owner twice and am sure that I am not alone on that.
The unique Noob Island is pretty cool. Had some cool mobs and camps which were well spread out.
Aerynth's large map helps to create a larger perspective. As a former RPer, seeing and feeling my being part of a larger world helped with my immersion.
Of all the maps I been on, I like Aerynth the best as it has the most to offer.

It's timeless.
For Aerynth.
AGREED!
