QoL: Rotate containers direction on rotate copy
Not sure if it's a bug or intended.
Currently when copying containers and rotating them, they preserve original global direction. This makes copying some parts really annoying.

Example:
Three containers with following configuration
-> C ->
-> C ->
-> C ->

After rotation form
-> C -> -> C -> -> C ->

When intuitively I would expect them to form

C C C

Another thing that I just found is that sometimes when pasting stuff with containers, inputs/outputs of cotainers change on its own (proabably due to realigning to pasted belts).

Personally I would add some flag similar to lock content that would lock containers directions in place.

That totally makes sense, and it's an easy fix. I promise it will be included in the next update. I'll reply to this post when it's out, I don't have an ETA yet. Thank you for suggesting it 😊

^^ that was a reply to your OP.
As for the lock configuration, hmm, I honestly want to avoid adding more buttons to keep things simple. A workaround would be to not paste anywhere where existing blocks may interfere with autoconfiguration. But that's not a good solution either.
I'll put it on my things-to-consider list.
No problem, thanks for quick reply.

As for pasting problem I think it might be because I do some weird compact stuff with containers as splitters/mergers. Here is and example (not sure how long images will be up):

How it is:

How it should be:

Not sure when that happened, as it was present after I loaded the game, but I remember building it correctly. Leaving at least 1 tile space so that containers have clear neighbours seems to solve it. To me it looks like containers try to automatically connect to any adjacent belt, even when it is not in correct position.
Tried playing with it some more, after cutting, and pasting this section, it removed the top input on all containers:

Yea, looks like there is something wrong with cutting, copy-paste works fine, but on cut-paste looks like it loses its input/output?

Ah, yes, I can in fact confirm the cut-paste bug. I'll get that fixed as well.
You'd think that after such a long development cycle I would have tried and seen that happen myself, but I guess not!
No biggie, I have seen my fair share of the dumbest bugs making their way to prod. Adds flavour to the day, and makes some great stories to tell.

@TheKiromen Update 1.04 has just gone out, and it includes the two fixes. I also credited you in the update notes, as I usually do 😊
