Starting fresh, obviously. Seeing how the game has changed hosts between a few publishers and even devteam/branch before, I'd imagine everything is lost.

Nothing that's digital (including STEAM library) is permanent - although it is convenient in the sense that as long as you've got a PC and VALVE, STEAM and the internet still exist - it will be attainable.

2012 player, although, I don't think I played it lot. I'd like to jump back in when this comes out, but I'm afraid of potential cheaters ruining this game. :/

I've had some run-ins with cheaters. (between 2008 and 2012(?)) and in one instance, one guy started to drop a large pile of premium variant of a weapon (if not more. Their name would periodically/constantly swap between people in team). For some reason, either after touching one or otherwise - you could also receive some odd effects such as noclip/flying, which is what made the experience strange. Was it some kind of dev console command of some kind that could be executed/triggered on all clients?

Game crashed/closed and the anticheat (not unlike picked up on
this irregularity - which left me perplexed due to having a clean copy of the game.
If I recall correctly, the anticheat was something akin to nProtect or xigncode..?

Been ages since. I think I still have a screenshot of that somewhere.

I was MrHell in IJJI back in 2010, playied untill it died, playied a bit in Aeria servers, and couple of rounds in Enmasse`s servers. It`s a shame that we`ll need to restart accounts, I had a collection of permanent weapons and some sweet event stuff as well.
