I dont remember AVA feeling this bad
This is clunky to the max, everything feels super off and barely viable. Snipers are extreme and all the other guns feels terrible to use. Was it always this bad?

When was the last time you played A.V.A? To me it's exactly the same. If you played it around 2010 and you remember liking it, but haven't played it in 6-7 years, the game may have established itself in your memories as something really fun and good, but when you play it, you realize it really isn't, but it's most likely the good times in the game and around it at the time of playing that are affecting your perception of it.

Even if you were magically brought back into 2010 to play it, you will realize the game wasn't the holy grail you remember it to be, just a regular F2P Korean FPS. I still find some enjoyment in it, although I never came in with hopes that playing this game will save my soul from eternal damnation, maybe you should reevaluate your own expectations too.

Yep, F2P weapons of Rifleman and Pointman was always terrible back then and Snipers were always OP.

Seems like they forgot to balance the weapons for a no P2W model.

A lot of games are very similar, you just have to find the one that is most fun for you and it gets really hard to get bored and put it away.

If there are no P2W weapons, what is there to balance really? I think the weapons are OK, but the default AR and SMG feel overpowred, I bought the old M4A1 that used to be the default Rifleman weapon in 2010 and it's objectively inferior to the current default Rifleman weapon, and as a result it makes it useless to even exist in the game as it does nothing to justify its existence.

AVA seemed fun to you 12 years ago because you were young and bad at video games like everyone else. The skill level back then was extremely low the games been completely figured out over the years people have better PCs/Equipment and in general are older and more experienced in shooters. Once you get that recipe all the glaring issues with the game show themselves like SMGs and Snipers being way too strong and ARs feeling like ♥♥♥♥. Its always been like this you just notice it more now because its a different era of gaming people have better gear and setups and in general more knowledge.

only thing thats bad is the matchmaking. when your team of solo players get full clan team against you, you already know its over. can't wait for pve

With so much content missing, it literally can't be what you remember. Also "removal of P2W" in and of itself brings along balance issues. Missing half the maps and modes content, half the weapons, and there is no purchasable armor (which is why the TTK seems ridiculously low).

I used the "Vector" it felt awful same with the MP5 (then again its the MP5) but the AK was really good (then again its the AK). Snipers are ridiculous and the game feels so off due to everything being so snappy.

Overall I didn't expect the game to be great but I didn't expect it to be feel bad.

back then even m04 had a bit of sway and g3 could easily deal with a quick sniper if you aimed for the head, now it's snipers or shotguns or else be killed.

That's a great summary of the situation. The best strategy is not going in with any expectations and it's fine. People (due to the bad reviews) looked at the game through rose-tinted glasses and thought that playing it again will magically turn them in to the high schoolers they were back in the day and everything will be as good as it was. That's never going to happen, coming back to old games shows how poorly most of them have aged, the secret is to either keep moving forward and find new games and let go of the nostalgia and the old ones or just accept the old ones as they are and try to find the merit in things.

No point in being a negative Debbie Downer (I'm not speaking about the OP, but everyone who expected the game to be some masterpiece that will steal every other Steam game's thunder and playerbase and leave them dead), just accept how things are and enjoy them, if you can't move on. No need to see everyone's personalized rant on how the game is not like they remembered it to be.
