Is there a reason to Tier up compression?

Does it do anything? When tiering up i only see the pile vanishing and thats it. Does the value of the shards improve?

you get Zybelium as a reward for compression events, which give you access to some really good upgrades.

also 10 compression events are needed to beat the game

I believe every compression causes double the value for the same height of the pile.

Yeah i was up to Compression 8 before prestiging and had the feeling that maybe slightly the value of the shards went up but not sure. I know that beating Comp. 10 zu beat the game is needed but i wanted to know if there is any benefit in tiering up in another way as well.

Some things do scale with tier like rifle damage, but the main reason is Zybelium.
