What's the red bar?

I may have missed some of the story, but I have a red bar in the damage panel with a backwards arrow. What is this? Does red mean bad? What should I do with it?

from the first compression event onwards the rock begins to suck some shards back into itself. The amount the rock reclaims increases the higher your pile is and also with each compression event.

So yes, red is bad. but you can't really do much to reduce reclamation. instead you are expected to increase your damage more and more to overpower the growing reclamation rate.

Well there are a few ways next to just ignore and increase your damage to fight and even get rid of it by using the right traits and upgrades.

I think there is a small popup in the top left that states the rock fights back after the first compression event. But it sure isn't an in depth explanation.
