How about an information about the importance of upgrade materials?
I always made room in my ship and have only 1 stack of each material.
Thought it might be for upgrading weapons and that I propperly won't need that much.

Well... turned out, it's for some really important upgrades and you should, under no circumstances, sell this stuff, no matter how tempting.
And yes, I know that it's stated that it's an upgrade material... but how about... you know... place the very first upgrade station next to the very first shop?
So the player can quickly see what these materials are for instead of guessing 1-2 hours, while rushing around with a full inventory.

Instantly noped out of the game, cause stuff like this is REALLY infuriating.

Keep playing, there is a very good reason why it's not a problem if you didn't know it at first. And you will understand soon.

You will then start a new cycle with this knowledge.

My only impression was that it's for some sort of meta progression, since it's a roguelite.
Basically, stuff that caries over from run to run.
The only way to make it 'not a problem' would be if I get back what I've sold... which is highly unlikely.

Maybe you can enlighten me why it's ok that I sould 30 of some material if the upgrade station requires plenty of that stuff for a (maybe) meta progression system.

EDIT: Would have been great to have this knowledge from the beginning, instead leaving it ambiguous till it's too late.

You probably haven't reach that point yet, but the game will make you restart from the beginning again as part of main plot and the game main mechanic, so any mistake you did so far including selling some material were not matter

Edit: oh wait you just reached it.
I think you are overreacting.

You don't need mineral resources for meta progression.
You will have countless opportunities to get dozens of full stacks of these resources everywhere except some story maps / random mission maps with no asteroids to mine.

The upgrades using those resources are absolutely not mandatory and appear fairly quickly at the beginning of the game (like, after less than half an hour of gameplay if memory serves well.) Plus, if you think about it, it's rocks. You can't equip them so you either sell them, drop them or use them later for upgrades... You only have yourself to blame for selling stuff even though you thought "it might come in handy later"

Maybe, but at this point in the game, it's just absolutely infuriating.
Like, couldn't the game have told me it's for some meta progression or so?
There is a pop-up for every little beep and blip I collect, and the game is like "Don't forget to check your equipment once in a while!".
Yeah... I know... how about tell me something that's useful instead instead of reminding me to check my stuff?

Just a small "Maybe I should hold onto it." or whatever.
Or again, place an upgrade station right next to the very first shop... the one that wants to repair your stuff.
With that method, it's instantly conveyed what the items, which just clutter my inventory, actually do.

Yeah... or just shut your trap about justifying vague hints.
Of course 'It might come in handy later', but in which quantities?
This stuff stacks up to 10... which clutters the inventory even more.
So don't blame me for wanting to get rid of things I have absolutely zero use for right now.
I mean, it wouldn't even have crossed my mind that stuff that's there for meta progression is sellable...
Drink water and get some air, is all the advice I could give you at this point

Nah, I haven't reached it.
I've reached the storage, put away my stuff, reached the upgrade station and just Alt+F4 out of this nonsense.
Game was fine so far, but that was just nonsensical design.
It's not like you will need those upgrade that much, you just need more drone slot for least. Later you will more likely to care about those ore for extract and cook up affix thing in your gear.

If I need it or not is for me to decide... I think.
And it's stuff you unlock, and if I need it or not doesn't matter, since more options are more options, and there is no downside in filling out skills.
And from what I've read, this stuff is at least semi useful... like, nothing is useless, or else, it would be a waste of a mechanic to include in this game.

Just relax and keep playing the game. I can't even understand what's angering you. I had a great time just playing and unveiling progression.

What I think would be great is the ability to buy resources with money.
station 6 has the module crafting platform and storage platform next to it. it was very very obvious to me right away after defending station 6 how important mats are. this is like half hour into the game or so.

if your asking for the developer to add tutorial on how to go/interact with these 3 platforms next to the station much earlier in the game. I hope they consider it very very low priority.

First: Since I don't rush things, it took me much longer than half an hour.
Second: I KNOW!!!

I know where this stuff is... the problem is, that it comes way too late.
You have already 3 maps worth of loot and stuff, and your inventory got filled 5 times over.
Having the first upgrade station at this moment was a bit too late, and, like I said, it would have been better to have it way before this moment... right next to the very first shop.

No tutorial or whatever... just an upgrade station after your first jump, so you get a visual representation about what these mats are for.
And what is this nonsense about priority?
"Don't listen to feedback of other people, I have much more important stuff!"

Overlooking the fact that you sound selfish beyond belief, adding an upgrade station to an early map shouldn't cost that much development time... :bombconfused:

I surely give this game another go later down the line.
The part that 'angers' me is the fact that devs are kinda elusive when it comes to revealing simple mechanics.

Having stuff in your inventory shouldn't feel useless, by not knowing what this stuff does.
Normally, you would find a means to upgrade things way before you actually get the materials.

But in this game, I collect pretty stones, watch as my inventory get more and more cluttered and made a decision that I would have never made if the game would have been more open about its mechanics from the start.

station 6 is an early map and is the primary hub for the game, the upgrade station and stash are easy to spot as the gear spanner and drum icons on the minimap are pretty self explanatory, not to mention if you approached each station and selected them you would have found out very quickly what their function was.
OP spent more time making angry posts about one simple game mechanic than it would have taken to play the game up to the point where they would have realized it was a non-factor.
