Also as far as classes they are unlocked by beating certain side missions in Challenge Tier 15, while these classes add a good bit of build diversity and new gameplay options, you will always be using the same type of ship.

That is wildly depressing.
I guess it'd be nice to have more varied body designs for the body parts. Maybe with later content.
I highly doubt warship or capital ship classes will be added because gear rewriting is literally a core component of the game, and adding in those much larger ships would render that mechanic redundant to a degree, and the dev is making effort to make the gear rewriting mechanic more obvious to players because people keep missing it. Adding in capital ships might make it more likely people miss the mechanic because... well, they're already missing it now.
