Cycle 5

So, without spoiling anything, I get vaporized anywhere in in Cycle 5, how the heck are you supposed to gear up? A certain someone just kills me instantly. Game was a blast until this.

That enemy is this game's equivalent of The Butcher from the Diablo series, so he's supposed to be terrifying, but it sounds like the scaling is off early in the cycle and becomes frustrating instead. I'll add it to my list to fix up.

Oh, he is quite terrifying, you got that part right! (As he's supposed to be)
It's not so bad once you can get some gear, but he was quite determined not to let me, which in universe I don't blame him.

Great game by the way, just got a bit frustrated because he was everywhere, got by it though

Edit: I think I was under the impression I HAD to fight him because I kept jumping from mission-to-mission and he was right there, every time. After interacting with him a few more times, I think I just got remarkably unlucky the first few times.

I can confirm this boss needs to be more balanced because he seems to show up in every side mission I try to do, and specifically with the side mission where you have to rescue the scientist its literally impossible without him destroying me or the ship.

I'm not sure if this boss is suppose to show up during every side quest, but for me he appeared in everyone, making escape almost impossible.

yep he owns you good playing on omen 3 as well so got to fly fast .

Fate Beam does work on him, but he does throw out a large amount of firepower quickly. Trying that near the science ship might be tricky though

Can't fly fast unless you have afterburner as the other 2 options have longer cooldowns and cover way less ground, also when you get to the scientist escort quest he always targets the scientists ship and kills him in seconds.

I'm juts going to have to do a cycle because I can't progress the rescue mission atm.

Great idea! For some reason I never thought of using the fate beam. I killed him and am now able to progress that quest!

Now the question is does he keep showing up or once you defeat him is he done for that cycle?

I've only done a couple more missions after taking him out, I haven't seen him again yet, but we don't play by the rules, so he might not either. I wouldn't be shocked to see him again, but I'm gonna guess once per run?

I agree it would make more sense to see him more often, but now that I know the Fate beam is that OP I will just save it for him if need be lol.

One thing I found interesting is, if you use Impulse Dodge he doesn't shoot back for a bit. This lets you close the distance and dance around him while shooting.

I want to kind of back tract on my previous statement about the event that starts happening after forced cycle 5. I was over here trying to beat him on difficulty level 4 like and idiot, so I turned it down to normal and it was much more balanced.

So my tip to players who get to this point is to make sure they are not over extending themselves with the difficulty settings, as bosses gte buffed A LOT. I would recommend sticking with normal diff if your trying to progress the story beats and only after start cranking it up.
