Cannot save the game

I keep losing hours of game play despite saving. It is beyond frustrating. I save, even sleep, and before i quit it says "last save 0 minutes ago" and then I go back to the game a few hours later and nothing I played in the last several hours of gameplay is there. I cannot play until this is fixed as it is so frustrating! Been playing your game since the beginning and just restarted on a new computer and hope to continue.

save manually
load your game only from your own save

saves incl backups are in
AppData/LocalLow/Awaken Realms/NPLH

Saving manually meaning going to the menu and hitting save? I do that and it still doesnt save.

so you don't not have any saves to load ?

when you are in the main menu & click there PLAY, you see your current profile & the last time the game was saved

you can see after clicking PLAY when the game was saved last time with the Date & the Time. if you save it manually, you see when the profile's save was saved manually last time & when it was saved automatically last time

& please disable Steam Cloud Saving
it messes up saves in numerous games repeadedly
when you lose hours of gameplay that sounds exactly like the steam cloud save problem

We'd love to help you with your issue! We do need all of the details to find the cause of this. Firstly, we need to know if the save files are being deleted or maybe they aren't seen by the game.
To find the save files you have to open up any folder on your computer. Paste this in a direction field: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Awaken Realms\NPLH\
The proper save file should be named "slot_X.nplhsave" Where x stands for the number of the slot.
Let us know if there are proper save files there. You can send them to us ([e-mail]) and we'll see what we can find.

I have sort of a similar issue, but I’m on the PS5 (sent an email a few minutes ago). My save files keep disappearing - it’s happened on three different play through a, at various points in the game. Last time I had 17 hours played.

There’s no way for me to recover previous saves, and the cloud sync file defaults to update when the game is launched.

Even though I enjoy the gameplay and style, I feel like I’ve wasted time and money. I should have come to this forum before purchasing.

Agree with sporky.

Im also on ps5 and worked through to get the platinum and apparently its bugged. the 200000 trash trophy is not obtainable. Also - twice now ive had saves die like you have said. I feel like ive wasted so much time on this game... the frustrations are outweighing the fun

If you want to not have your Ps5 auto sync your save data so that you can do it yourself when you want to.

Go to....
Options > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Saved Data (PS5) or (PS4) > Sync Saved Data > Auto-Sync Saved Data.
Then just disable it.

After that...then you can choose when you want to sync your save data for each game by clicking the options button (on the controller) while hovered over each game from the Ps5 menu & then click "Upload/Download Saved Data".

I know that this doesn't help the save data that you already lost & doesn't help with the save bug for this game...but hopefully this will help for future situations so that you don't have an issue like that again with the console overwriting your save data.

I had the same issue, clearing out a large area, coming back later and trash was all back where I had cleared before. I will disable Steam Cloud saving, should hopefully deal with it...

Same here, even when I save the game many times before leaving just in case, still doesn't work properly and I can never known in which part was saved.
