Cracking the Cryptic web app

Heard about this from the web channel Cracking the Cryptic. I have been using their web app to solve the puzzles in their videos. Is this made by the same people? I assumed it would be, but am surprised to see the interface being so different.

It is quite annoying and unpleasant. The differences seem completely, and arbitrarily, pointless.

I'm not sure why Goya chose Unity to make these games, but I don't think they're involved in the online apps. There are features of this interface I do like, such as highlighting all the candidates and cells when you click on a number, which the web apps don't have.
