Grandpa's Funeral

So I've been trying the first mission for a while now and no matter what I do I can't get the funeral mission to work. Talking to Grandma does nothing and going to the beach does nothing.

Same thing happened to me. Starting a new game fixed it

I'm half way through the acheivements, didn't know there's a funeral for him lol.

After you speak with the girl at the big mansion east of the village, you're told to go to the beach at the eastmost end of the island during evening. Then you'll have the funeral.

Took me a restart to actually witness grandpa's fate (I didn't realize that you have to ABSOLUTELY follow the plot whenever you're prompted: no "just a sec, I'll repair that bridge you asked me earlier and be there"). And I guess I will have to restart again to try and find where and how you attend that damn funeral. There are so many unintutive things in this game. I wish to like it but I just can't atm.

does finishing grandpa's funeral unlock some additional quests? if not Im not restarting and I'll wait for the bugfix

missed the funeral too and am stuck in the game

Oh, is it a requirement to complete it? Seems like a bug then. I never saw the funeral either even though I think I was maybe there on the correct day. Spoke with the girl, then no funeral. Moved on without completing and it's stuck in my quest log.
