Russian prosecutor's office wants to ban Last Train Home in Russia

St. Petersburg prosecutor's office demanded to ban the video game Last Train Home - because of incitement of hatred towards the soldiers of the Red Army

The Prosecutor's Office has filed a lawsuit demanding that the Last Train Home video game be banned from being distributed in Russia.

The suit, quoted by Daria Lebedeva, head of the joint press service of St. Petersburg courts, says that the game "is capable of opposing traditional values" of Russian society and creates in children "a feeling that the information presented from various sources is false" as well as a feeling that they are "ordered to perform cruel game actions."

The prosecutor's office also claims that the game incites hatred and enmity towards the Russian authorities and Red Army soldiers from the Civil War. The lawsuit claims that Last Train Home contains false information about the activities of government agencies and officials during the Russian Civil War, and forms a negative attitude towards them, as well as denies historical facts and glorifies representatives of the Czechoslovak Corps. This, as the prosecutor's office states, may harm the mental and social health and development of children.

Uh oh, its the best advertisement you can possibly get. Wishlisted.

It makes sense, considering that the primary source of the game's history is the diary of a person who did not participate in the events described in the game.

good move  this game has almost zero relation to the "historical events" described on its page

LOLing at people here who are supporting this. Did you even read the article or the English translation provided here? Like, doesn't anything about it seem to bother you? I am not saying this game is oh so wonderful and truthful (it's not), but come on. "Muh traditional values", "think about the kiddies" (my favorite part), blah blah blah. Also, even if taking in consideration that this is a Czech game about Czechoslovak Legion during the Russian Civil War, it's not like the Red Army (let alone the "Russian authorities", lul) during that period consisted solely of wonderful people who did absolutely nothing wrong. Plus keep in mind that by supporting such ♥♥♥♥ you're not supporting historical and cultural justice for Russia, you're supporting ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and schmucks from the govrenment who think that they can get anything banned left and right under any idiotic and subjective pretence.

Man, if you only knew how wrong you are... I assure you, they know ABSOLUTELY nothing about games. All they care about is some kind of moldy political nonsense.

Yeah, thanks Russia for never changing, I completely forgot this game as I was busy. Theme of CS Legions returning back via broken down Russia, during civil war between White and Red forces, done as Tac RPG and "caravan" mgmt.

Buying.

And on serious note - Russia, do change, or you picking up fights with everyone will mean all of us will have to change you.

Everyone who writes here that this is "the best advertising" - guys, don't be brainless roosters, you are being led by political conjuncture.

The Russian government is not the real Russia.

the construction of an enemy

Remember the Nazi technique: “pit race against race, religion against religion, prejudice against prejudice. Divide and conquer!”
—President Franklin D. Roosevelt (January 1942) admonishing Americans not to discriminate against aliens, weeks before he signed the Japanese exclusion order (Greg Robinson, By Order of the President, 2001).

as you can see, not just the German, or the Russian, know how to use this power technique

Although the story of our game "Last Train Home" is about a fictional (!) last train, we created it based on available historical sources, aiming not to portray the war in a black-and-white manner. Throughout the game, players can see all sides of the conflict, even in an unflattering light.

With that being said, we are genuinely surprised that the prosecutor's office in Saint Petersburg has turned its attention to our game, when there must be other, more pressing priorities, such as the prosecution of human rights violations and similar topics.

The diary that was used to write the story was written by a person who did not see these events himself, but wrote them down from the words of other participants.
Naturally, the prosecutor's office was interested in the game, given that the events in the game have little to do with reality.

But what does the Russian Federation's prosecutor's office has to do with reality?

Friendly reminder for everyone to stay civil and respectful and also that Steam forums are not a place for political discussions. Thanks.
