I know DLC is hard, but upon viewing the stats...
https://steamcommunity.com/stats/1469610/achievements/

During a casual conversation with my friend yesterday, I mentioned, somehow I finished a game with a low finish rate. Only less than 13% of players finished the main game at all. He was surprised at this rate, because everyone paid for this game and only one out of ten players made to the end?! He said he would consider a game with less than half finish rate for the fun of challenge, but 13% sounds kind of low. He was impressed I managed to finish this at all. ( it is Steam stats. There are other buyers on GOG too not counted )

I said, wait til the DLC. Cheka story has only 0.3% and two more have only 0.2%. It means, out of 500 players of this game, only one finished those two difficult stories. Even the easiest mission has only 0.9% finish rate. Of course, not everyone purchased DLC, that's a factor too. But think about it, out of 10 players, only 1 and a fraction more made to the end, and out of 14 players finishing the game, only 1 finished any DLC at all. And for 4 or 5 players finishing any DLC at all, only 1 player at best finished all.

I smirked: "I guess this rate doesn't deviate too far from the Crimea evacuation more than a century ago" Maybe I got to be Korolev a bit this time.

He was stunned at this number... And He was horrified by my comparison. ( I often have darker humors not unlike in-game dialogues and he blames the occasional nightmares on me for this )

He said, everyone paid for this game, and this number sounds unreal!

I smirked again: "told you last year, my sub-tests of IQ have scores higher than 140. I guess all this makes sense."

I copied the below from the link above. Oh well........
The percentage shows the rate for each achievement below.

Another source has slightly difference percentage (major difference is the finish rate of chapter 1)
https://www.exophase.com/game/last-train-home-steam/achievements/
but in the end, finish rate is similar, around 12%-13%. And DLC finish rate is equally low.

Chapter 1-5 has consistent drop rate between 20%-5%. (I wonder if demo is calculated in this number?) Usually the players sticking together after the Gold Train in Chapter 5, has stabilized situation afterwards. Of those 17% finished Children of the Storm, most of them finished the game in Vladivostok. Just like IQ test, the pattern of dropping indicates how the mass population reacts to the game, and I guess half bails out in the first three chapters.

I really feel sorry for those 7% players finishing the Gold Train but ended somewhere afterwards. Did they run out of fuel, or the locomotive broke down? Or everyone froze to death, ran out of food, or just mass deserted? Or maybe someone had the last grasp to reach the Gold Train but unable to continue because of lack of staff to keep the train operational?

Coal Baron, Gather over 1000 Fuel is 25.7%. I wonder how many did gather over 4000 like me? That sounds like Coal Tsar

The only other game I remember as challenging was Mafia City of Lost Heaven Free Ride Extreme. Base game wasn't easy (many people ended in the racing chapter) but Free Ride Extreme was just too wild, I never finished it.
Another one was Commander Keen in Goodbye, Galaxy. But I was only 9yo at the time, living in another world... I played it in school computer, and they still kept Stalin portraits on the wall for 3 decades... I got the same copy again but I have never been determined to play it further.

Thoughts?

I found that even after the most recent patches I've still had a couple of achievements that refused to unlock, and I'm on my 4th? 5th? playthrough. I really enjoy the game concepts but I looked at the achievements, scratched my head and just gave up trying to trigger some after spending a couple of runs and on some several missions (looking at you stupid *fireworks* achievement ). I've taken every soldier possible, no idea how many runs to "claim them all" but I've gone north and south etc sooo yeah, I wouldn't sweat the completed %. Congrats tho!

Few achievements just don't make sense, (last few with 0%) and I feel bad for those running out of coal. I wouldn't unlock this ever.

I never encounter some soldiers neither.

Fireworks achievement requires upgrading the artillery car loading to 4 strikes in each mission, and each strike shoots out two cannons, making it 8. Given how I am, in Chita assault, I wiped the whole map before the order of attack, and only used 3 strikes. So someone really has to be a confrontational player to use all 4 strikes in one mission.

Overall, I know only a few people would complete the game and the DLCs, but I didn't know it would be THIS few.

I am really enjoying the game, but I can see why some players do not finish it. It is really a long game and at some moment you may just be enticed to play other things.

I think you come at this from the wrong premise. Even easy short games often have low completion rates. This all is pointless if you don't compare data from a big pool.
Many people don't 100% a story, let alone adjacent achievements. Sometimes they become uninterested in the game, they don't have time to come back, or have technical issues, etc. I've also missed some achievements in games because I played offline and only unlocked them in a different run for example.
Also bringing up your own IQ for no reason is just so lame lol, go back to studying French (and if you don't get that reference then you really got no business talking about it)
what an absolute clown. braindead post for someone "wItH 140 iQ"
