Game takes it's time to load, can anyone tell me why that is the case?

So I notice that the game takes it's sweet time to load in to the main menu and I'm wondering why that is the case, am I missing something or what?

It's taking upwards of hours just to get passed the loading screen and I'm wondering if its because of something, I have a good PC so if anyone can help me. Please and Thank You!

Edit #1: If you are wondering how bad it is, my current ingame time is 4.6 Hours. Haven't even seen the Main Menu. Also I get a pop up asking me if I want to play the with DX12 or play without DX12, did anyone else get this or is it just me?

Edit #2: Game works now, if you are having troubles, do this: Right-click on Last Train Home in Steam > Properties > General > Type '-ngxdisable' in the last line > Start the game

I'm going to try the reinstall it step by step that you recommend and see if that works, I love this game you made and really want to play it as I haven't been in the ingame menu yet.

I mean even on my 5600x installed to an ssd i noticed it takes a little longer then I would expect for a game that loads a map and a train but I just chalked it down to optimization and AA studio.

Guess I just need to wait it out and hope it works at some point.

Yes, both times. Maybe I do need a better PC but I doubt that's the problem because I have a gaming PC. I'm going to try just running the game until I get to the main menu. I'll see about that and update the post about how it goes.

What are your PC specs, please? And does the game create a log file when you start it?

You would find it here: ...\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\LastTrainHome\Train\Saved\Logs

My guess:
1. you have full RAM (try closing some background apps - chrome :D )
2. you have full Hard drive

If this is not the case, then the process probably froze and you are just stuck. But if this is redoable anytime you run this game, my bet is on the point. 1.

I don't have Chrome install on my computer and I don't think my harddrive is full as it has something like 500+ GB, but I don't know maybe I should check. Mind telling me how I would go about closing said Background Apps if you don't mind?
