Last Mission ist frustrating and anoying
Finished the game in Wladivostok.

I hate this whole mission. Assaulting the fort and do a 5 minute fight with constant artillery strikes. I lost 6 of my 10 legionary Squad to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ artillery strike. But immediately after they left the striking area, they where trapped in another area.

The equipment helping me defending the fort? You know the machine gun... the howitzer and the AT-Gun? Immediately destroyed by the artillery. I fought literally with sticks and stones against 3 tanks and an overhelming, grenade throwing, red wave.

I won barely with 1, 1/2 legionaries left.

I expected an epic last stand with a breach to the port, meeting up with other legionaries. But i got this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fiesta. Im dissapointed.

It is much easier if you have the artillery wagon ready. Then, two grenadiers are enough to destroy the tanks and trucks. You can try to use the two vehicles obtained during the mission to block some of the entrances. The rest of the soldiers are easy to deal with. This was very fun mission.

It would be, if the stupid artillery would not force you to move every 3seconds so that the tanks and enemy soldiers can kill you more easily. Sometimes every pixel between me and the enemy was arty death zone.

Just stay out of the blast area. If they destroy your heavy guns, it is perfectly fine too. Sure, you will experience some death here and there but few reloads will fix it.

I think you don’t Unterstand. Every single pixel was arty death zone. Every second a new zone popped beneath my legionaries. Every single second. I was full time busy moving my legionaries than defeating the enemies.

Hm ok I am not sure if I understand. I just moved them from the entire zone completely so nothing could harm them.

If u actually do the secure airport side mission czech pilots u saved will make short work with all enemy artillery. Reds coming mostly from one place in wall u can place explosives there and yes urs own artillery wagon will do short work with enemy tanks ive lost 0 legionnare last mission all full health too.

Then it’s bugged for me.

I did every sidequest (both north route) and rescued the pilot in chapter 3/4 and the airport mission with the carpenter.

My Arty waggon was busy on CD and then out of use after I used it multiple times.

In my run there were like dozens of arty deathzones. Only a small break at the end end in the intermission phase. It was not like in the Battlefield mission with General „suicide charge“ a few chapters ago where the arty shots every 5 seconds. It was more like a MG42 combined with an artillery. It was devastating.

I was lucky, that i did not position my legionaries in the middle but at the front gate and near the breach so artillery was a surprising but not bad thing for me. What really came as a surprise were where the tanks at the end came through. I put the last mines on the bridge in front of the front gate. What a waste :D That cost me two legionaries.

So don't be in the middle and you will be fine.

Lost zero legionairrers, did not enjoy.

It was a chore, as if supposed to distract me from the poor gameplay. Running around, picking wounded and just scanning the map over and over for arty, while the advancing enemy was of no threat at all. Just chores.

I guess it would be too much to script the enemy AI even in the last level. Just throw some suicidal tanks head on instead.

Worst mission in the game. I'm just sitting there shaking my head muttering, "This is f***in' stupid." Played the whole game on Normal and I figured they'd throw something like this in at the end though. I can probably beat it on Easy with all settings cranked, but I don't have time for these shenanigans. This isn't strategy.

There's a couple tricks to easily solving this mission. I did it without losing a single guy, although there were some injuries.

  1. First, about their tanks. If you have the artillery car on your train, artillery strikes can easily make short work of those tanks. Snipers "kill" shots also do significant damage and a couple snipers can finish off ones of those damaged tanks with a couple kill shots and get out before they can fire back.
  2. Second, from the behavior I saw when I played it, the artillery strikes they direct at you tend to focus where your guys were. So if you spread your guys out and delta split, then the next wave of artillery strikes are going to also be spread out and leave nowhere to run. It also means that if your guys were standing by the weapon emplacements, then those are going to get hit too. So, the best solution and what worked for me was keeping all my guys in a tight group, well away from those emplacements I wanted to save, and run in a tight group each time an incoming artillery strike would hit where they are currently standing.
  3. Third, they don't send waves of men while they are bombarding. So, if you're quick enough you can duck and weave your way through each round of artillery, then get back to good fortified positions to take down the wave of guys. Rinse and repeat a couple times and you're done.
The mission seemed ridiculously easy to me; a completely repaired, fully manned fortress would actually have been necessary as the final boss. The enemy artillery attacks were aimed precisely at a small zone and posed no danger. Only the enemy tanks, which all came to one place on the wall, were a bit threatening, but they could easily be fought with mines and artillery.

its just shows the deves have bad AI for the enmys
just make it the reds show up with 200 - 300 slodiers or so and have a real defens mission
(the ary is just bad) to cover up the game short coimings

and i have to say mission is to easy to me to
