Finished the game at long last and never going back in because my god I had no idea wtf that plot became BUT for those finding this in the future, do Ancient Pages appear in auctions way after you become a sect leader as well? Like can you get that notification 4 years later and there'll be a page there?
I ignored auctions until like, year 40, a dozen years after being leader and tried 2 cycles of every city auction but found none.
Not sure about your playthrough but after becoming a Sect Leader, even in Yong Ning Region, I usually got notification of Ancient Page about in every 2 or three Auctions. My sect destiny is Murderous Rise and is the best for Crits so I never bother changing it because I wanted my sect members to acquired it first before I reroll a new sect destiny. Also, the Ancient Page will be gone after an Auction and very difficult to steal from any NPC, so the best course of actions was to participate and win the Ancient Page or wait for the next auction that have it.
