I'm having the same problem. I last played it a few days ago and everything's been fine, but today it's just not opening.

Same thing, pretty sure that's why I uninstalled it in the first place a couple months ago.

Yeah it sucks that people need to delete that manually, you only need it (with a workaround) to use the ingame modding page. Just wish they'd fix this so hasty people stop giving bad reviews for this tiny inconvenience.

{Win 11} Open up your Settings UI, navigate to Time and Language, then go to language and region.

Next, click on Adminstrative Langauge settings, a new window should pop up.

Click on Change System Locale, another window should pop up

Check the checkmark for Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8. then save and okay , you should get a prompt to restart Windows. after doing this you should be able to start Tales of Immortal normaly.

this should let the game launch without deleting the Dll so you can use mods.

Crazy that you need to delete a file the devs made to launch the fking game!

Thanks, this worked for me without needing to delete anything. Locale seems to cause problems with many chinese games. Another game had bugs until I changed locale. Perhaps this fix would eliminate some of bugs like that, too, but it's hard to check.

I just bought the game and was having this problem on first run. I can confirm that open local game files and deleting the file "version.dll" corrected the issue.

This will look you out of the majority of mods. So it's best to use the fix above and enable UTF-8.
