I will try to explain what is fun about it to people that understand nothing about cultivation using DBZ: you start as a Yancha (Mortal) and your goal is to become a SSJ4 (Immortal), each stage of cultivation is a massive "power up" and requires more Ki and items as you progress, But here is the catch, just like you want to become a SSJ so does the NPC's and they can rob, attack, betray you to do so and most of them have connections, those connections are maybe his family, friends or guild( sect) and if you kill the NPC his connections will come after you. so lets say you a SSJ 1 and kill a SSJ 1 NPC whos father is a SSJ3, his father will rip you apart. The fun comes from reaching new tiers, upgrading skills, creating your build and making your own fun be it by gettting sweet vengeance on some bastard that rob you, building your sect or becoming the master of one or going after a certain guild and wiping them out after you become godlike.
Sad reality,I know.
The thing is, games about "cultivation" are rare. This is one of the main reasons that make that game great. Because there is even fewer that have an english translation.
The game is a RPG with a chinese point of view, and there is plenty of time to spend on it. Even though the game is still in developement.
all what you said sounds a lot of fun but the graphic is very bad i think this developer idea about the game is very good but their game graphic design is very bad i wish this was made by square enix or any other famous western game developer both of those have their unique graphic design the current game looks like those cheap platformer games if you guys know of a game with the same idea as this but better graphic please tell me
First of all there are 6 martial skills and 6 elemental, each have a variety of skills, you can make plenty of different builds combining them even. You are limited to 1 skill of martial/spiritual/motion/ultimate but can change them out to manuals you have learned. There are also artifacts that have a special skill of their own, as well as random perks you get whenever you ascend to the next foundation.
Then there is difficulty change, when a game gets too easy you can move up difficulties that make it more punishing, bosses have more health/do more damage etc.
Finally with a huge open world you arent in the corridor effect most rpgs have. You have different zones that are higher in difficulty but you arent burdened by having to do the main quest arc. (there is a main quest but you will ignore it for the most part.)
Graphics have never been important to a game. There are 1000s of unreal engine assets flips on Steam that look great but have absolutely no gameplay.
This game may be not the best but there is no other games like this yet.(actually there is some games but with terrible 3d\2d graphics and not exactly xianxia genre)
So if you dont like this game then no point to discuss it.
If you only care about graphics then try this one, is a xian xia type of game and the gameplay is a hack n slash with some RPG aspects.
