I am already the leader of the Dragon Hamlet Sect, am I able to join them as well as be a sect leader?

I'm taking the bug fate up to level 5 so I won't have the fates for the alchemist path.

Alchemist temple is not a sect, you can't join them... well, technically you can, but it is more of a quest thing. And remember that your decisions can greatly affect the quest outcome. Generally you lose nothing by doing the alchemist quest chain, and you aren't missing on their rewards no matter the outcome. Also this quest have no time limit like almost any other quest in this game, except for that girl in her house quest chain in first region.
And you don't have to get the alchemist fates either.

Thanks, it's good to know. It was confusing because the translation had them say they were a sect and the quest telling me to join the sect several times lol

Also rip Cabin girl, she deserved better.

I know its an older thread, but I will leave my choice decision result here for others. SPOILER AHEAD. I noticed many recipes I was given, are poisons. That aroused my cultivator skepticism about this place, despite the guy speaking so politely to you. Before making a choice to join I went around the 3 temple grounds. One even had a scene where a poisoned cultivator was begging for an antidote, and the temple guy told him he will give it to him if he obeys. That was a big flag. The woman in the quest line earlier also said things are more complicated and not what they seem here. In the end I refused to join. The "polite" guy said he respects my decision, and with an evil smirk said he hopes to see me change my mind in the future. And voila, I am poisoned. You meet the woman later, she offers to detoxify you at their branch of the divine cauldron instead. Seems like a better choice so far, going there now.
