Huh. I just bought this and Amazing Cultivation simulator. I think I just got boned haha. At least the game is fun
Well from what I understand Steam Global is banned, not Steam itself. Steam China currently has about 103 games on it where the Global version has the full Steam library.

So they could still develop the game but the question is can they apply updates to the version of the game we have access to.

There is no official word though. Some are reporting that it is a possible DNS attack while others report it is banned. I don't believe there has been any official confirmation in that regard.

This game is such a wonder to play, one of the best sandboxes that are able to simulate a living world with ever evolving npc stories, it has soo much to offer! I truly, truly hope that we can still receive future updates and our english localization support!

Also, i would like to point out that after the game reaches its realization and comes out of early access, i would be willing to continue to support it and the devs! Maybe extra content in form of expansions or DLCs? Just sharing my thoughts!

Love you Devs! Hope we can still enjoy this golden gem of a game!

:fhappy::symnote:
There have been conflicting reports about it. Some places are saying steam global is banned. Others are saying its actually a DNS attack on China's firewall blocking access and not a ban. We will just have to wait and see whats going on.

They were 2000 players yesterday and 12000 today. Problem solved or VPN ?

VPNs are illegal in China.

That there is no statement is worrying to me beyond even the worst that the could say.
Already owned games arent blocked in the first place, only the storefront from what I gathered.
There still being absolutely no statement is interesting though.

VPNs are illegal in China.
Yet everyone is using them.
In China you need to load VPN to log in to Steam, perhaps the end result is that Chinese players can only use Steam China instead of Steam globle:steamfacepalm:
Not only they crack down on gaming, I heard they also wanted to ban effeminate males in any fiction work, be that movies, anime or games.
Tale of Immortal I think fits in that category - traditional Chinese male characters, are very often effminate...even thos I really don't see the logic behind that (dudes, thats your own history and culture for heaven's sake!!), but at least the sparrows are not hurt this time.

Is this game even on the Chinese version of steam? I tried looking it up but I don't see it.

Seems to be just a DNS attack after all, still gave me quite the scare. Really don't wanna see this game die or be removed from steam global :(
Y'all really need to stop getting your news from some random tabloids journalist on twitter.
Wouldn't change much even if they did ban steam. Most gamers in China use legitimate VPN's called accelerators that let them post on the workshop etc. approved by the CCP.

So far it seems only to be a DNS attack
