You may wish to try to use the spirit that lets you track a target for revenge and give them gifts instead (rings and mounts from shops are good). This could help.
I've also seen someone suggest that the game will outright spawn family/social relations if you kill someone, that didn't exist before, sooooo...
Haven't happend to me, even if I killed someone without family.
Anyway, I suggest you be very careful and if you do kill someone and they have a powerful family member and you ever come across them in a city or something, bribe them.
Turns out that 1 friend had 20 other friends, so, after that friend had attacked me, lost, and quickly fled, I ended up having a dozen or so other people (1 or 2 realms above me) tracking me down every month to kill me for the next couple years saying that I shall pay for attacking the person who attacked me first. And all the people who tried to kill me were people I had a few hearts of affinity with too, so being friends won't necessarily stop them from attacking you but will help you save from having to bribe them to spare you.
Ningshuang is a savior after you unlock her 2nd artisanship skill. When you get it you can save-scum kill anyone with no consequences. At end game, I'm noting names after auctions and tourneys, and then I assassinate them for their items/rewards.
If you are Golden Core, but have a master that's much higher rank (Rank 7/8 would be best). People will beat you up, but not kill you even if you don't bribe them, as they know your master will kill them.
If you are going to go around killing people, but don't want to make high rank friends/master, then make sure to grab the 100% Flee Chance ability on awakening. Actually, I would suggest picking it up anyways, as its a major time savor, and can sometime eject you into areas much further away/over impassable mountains right now.
Alternatively, you could always keep a large stock of the anti-tracking charm sold in cities and spam them often.
Hi mind teaching us how the spirit, charms, breakthrough, and bribes work so you can get away with killing someone?
I think I can only understand the breakthrough part wherein they wont chase you if you're strong enough. How about the other stuff?
Would really appreciate it!
Breakthrough: Be stronger than your enemies.
Charms: Have friends and close relations who are stronger than your enemies.
Bribe: Keep good items such as heaven earth treasures, red or orange manuals, or other valuables you can offer enemies. You won't technically "get away" but they will be more likely to be waved off rather than killed. You could also try to get into their good graces by offering them valuables when you run into them in cities.
In the world of cultivation it is common for cultivators to mark people close to them. Just like you get a tick at the start of the month that your friends/family/master gets involved with something they similarly do as well...
In effect when it comes to the world of cultivation you can't get away with anything. Perhaps once the Talisman update is here they will add a one that may conceal your activities from NPCs but for the moment they'll always know it was you.
Edit: To clearify there is a talisman in game to prevent NPCs from tracking you for a short time in shops but not one that'll make them not know your involvement in an assault/murder.
Thanks! I hope they add more features that will interact with this system.
Never been so glad before that I picked an agility fate at the start. At least I can run off without a hitch.
