Gotta say I agree with this.
Would be awesome to have perhaps... sets of skills, you can change between, perhaps not unlimited/free but at least a few times in battle or with cd?
You could say it takes time to realign the meridians, etc and that changing too many times might cause Deviation due to misflow of Qi.
That would balance the game difficulty with the fact that your character is supposed to have collected and learned so many martial arts/inner skills.
This would also allow for different sets for different types of bosses, allowing more customization.
Today I'd like you to look up a local business, a martial arts studio. Maybe a tae kwon do school. Call them up and ask them to teach you brazillian ju jitsu. They're going to say no, they only teach tae kwon do.
Ya feel me, dawg?
You can buy stuff from other sects for spirit stones, or from the auction house. You can find from killing mobs. You can steal books from people, too. You're only limited by the sect if you choose to be. Mostly I get my main attack skill fruit from it, and maybe 1-2 other skills if something good shows up. Everything else I get from finding it in the wild.
I do feel that dawg. I also feel like said studios are a single focused branch. While a sect is like a collection of studios that fight each other for supremacy. And the skill at the top level is the branch that won. Which now makes all this make complete sense.
Still, I do have to agree with Megiddo in being able to upgrade skills rather than having to completely swap out your load out according to what's the ultimate skill that the sect offers. Or at least a more effective non-rng way to continue on the path you're on, like leveling up the sect that gave you the skill in the first place.
No, you can see. Just go to the sect, and look at the right side of your screen. It shows the requirements for joining. I just pulled into one right now, it shows Wind Stat of 350, Palm Stat of 350, Sect affinity, Recommendation letter. The two stats that are listed are what the sect specializes in. Incidentally, you can buy the spiritual fruit from them for Spirit Stones, and the better you get along with the sect the lower the price. They sell the fruits that match their sect requirements. That's how you get your non-sect stats up, so that you can neutralize some hits and not get smashed when fighting other cultivators.
Also, if you could upgrade the initial skills, then there wouldn't be much of a game. No sects, no farming, no auction house, no anything.
I don't really have much to say about the ultimates. I just picked one up to have one, because having an empty skill slot sucks, and left it in there ever since. Still rolling with my Foundation II ult at the cusp of Enlightenment. Only one more level to unlock on it, till I have it fully unlocked! VIII out of IX right now.
And Ultimates are indeed killing moves that are just really cool, and can sometimes really win the fight for you. Or be a complete waste of time. Kind of a toss up depending on whether or not you can build for it. Which is why being able to see what a sect specializes in would be nice.
Speaking of which....You actually can see all of that by becoming becoming friends with everyone in the sect.........so....yeah..make friends yo.
I notice you mentioned being a Wood spec could you possibly give me any tips or guide on progressing as a Wood user? im nearly to Qi Condensation Realm...
Of particular note, is if you aren't playing on Chaos, Save scum. Save scum like hell. In particular you want to get the Purple Skill that lets you cast Wood/Water Ultimate skills without meeting the requirements.
I will admit, the whole point of a wood user is to straight up summon as much things as possible to use as cannon fodder while you run around and avoid dying and spreading whatever it is you specialize in. Even the poison swamp will eventually be able to spawn poison frogs.
Now the whole point of this thread is my sincere wish to be able to swap skill sets so I can have a variety of ways to fight my enemies. The point that was brought up though was that there is a specialization to each class where you have to specialize into one build where the martial skill (left click) empowers the special skill (right click) to allow you to summon the Ultimate skill. And the movement skill is there to keep you alive, but there are wood versions that also give you the option of summoning more creatures, and its the same case with any class.
