(System Specs) GPU Memory Plays A Big Role In Max Units
WARNING! Windows 7 is not compatible since it does not fully support DX 11.1. As well, older graphics cards such as the GTX 700 series and down, may not run battles at all. Your graphics card must fully support DX 11.1, not just DX 11.0. We also do not recommend graphics cards under 3 GB.

Hello everyone. I wanted to give a little insight into specs and performance. And a warning about GPU memory, and to keep expectations reasonable.

GPU is by far the greatest factor in performance in UEBS2. The great news is, performance completely scales with the power of the GPU, but there is one important factor at play. GPU memory. If you max out the memory of your GPU, unfortunately performance can suddenly go from playable, to completely unplayable. This is because each AI runs on the GPU, therefore it's properties must be present on the memory.

We have worked very hard to optimize and keep memory down, but I'll try to give you a good idea of the numbers of units you can expect in memory numbers. Keep in mind, these numbers will likely change closer to release.

3-4 gigs Cards - Max recommended units: 100 - 500k(These cards CAN reach 1 million but you risk stutters and slow downs).
6 - 8 Gig cards - Max recommended units: 1 - 4 million.
10 - 16 Gig cards - Max recommended units: 4 - 10 million.
20 - 24 gig cards - Max recommended units: 10 - 16 million. (Estimation since we do not own any card over 16gigs).

Hope this helps everyone get an idea of the types of battles your PC can handle! In general we don't recommend going over 1 million, as the game was built to be stable at this number. But UEBS2 is about pushing the limits, and hey it's fun!

Good to hear my 1060 3gb isn't going to be too bad until I can upgrade. I love what you guys are doing here and hopefully this pushes other games to try to push unit counts further as well (Looking at you total war).
My 3080 and i can not wait!

So you're saying my RTX 3090 can handle a few units on-screen at once?

Does bandwidth come into play at all? In general the new AMD cards have 16 GB while most of the Nvidia ones only have 8, but the NVIDIA graphics cards tend to still have higher performance at higher resolutions because of the small bandwith the AMD cards have. The infinity cache seems to only go so far for higher resolutions but I would be curious how this would all apply to this game.

Thanks for letting us Know as a content creator for the Original game on youtube it's nice that I'l know my limits when it comes to my hardware only having a 4gb 1070 TI means for the medium term I guess I'l just stick to 300-400k battles in UEBS2

My 3080ti can’t wait for the workout. Oh akd it says “we don’t own any cards over 16gigs. Doesn’t the 3090 have 24g vram? Sounds like 3090 is made for this game. I hope my 3080ti does good. Wow, this game looks fun and addicting. It’s like civilization on steroids. Haha. Now we just need more types of troops, like horse and carriage and tanks and all kinds of stuff in the future. Part 3 maybe? I’ll be following and purchasing day one! Take my money! Way to push the limits of computing power! Cheers
