Frontiers Reach

Tutorial Failure Question
I've played the tutorial probably about a dozen times now and I've never been able to complete it for several reasons, but I wanted to see if anyone knew how/why/what happens when the Dad says, "I'm Sorry." A few seconds later the tutorial ends, goes to a loading screen and then back to the main menu.

This always seems to happen after the second ship (the one that's after the mothership where you're supposed to target the engines). I thought it might have something to do with not protecting the rover, but that indicator was no longer visible and the mission status on the HUD and the arrow indicator always point towards either the mothership or the one that just landed.

Thanks.

No failure.

That's just the end of the tutorial. But I will make an adjustment to the tutorial mission to make sure that is more apparent.

If you create a new pilot and start the game from the first mission there will be some additional tutorial hints in the first few missions. The primary tutorial that is launched from the pilot selection menu is just to get your feet wet with the basics.

Awesome, thanks. I really enjoyed the flow and progression of the tutorial so I was always sad that it ended so abruptly.

Oh, there are more of those types of missions in the main story.

Follow up question: What's happening story-wise that makes your Dad say, "I'm sorry." I sort of lose track of him after he says that he's in his plane and that he'll be on my wing shortly.

There is a lot going on in that characters head that simply isn't spoken. But the short version is that the homeworld was invaded by a force that intends to stay and it means an end to the freedom the people of Tom Uul have enjoyed up to that point. "Dad" saying he is sorry is a way of expressing his disappointment in himself for not being able to do more.
