Game won't launch after installing Knights of Cross and Rose

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game 3 times, I've verified the game files multiple times, I've updated all my drivers and my partner spent the whole day trying to get it to launch.
Once I've clicked play, it goes through the regular launching process, the button now says stop and nothing has happened. No game windows open at all and it doesn't even appear in the task manager. Does anyone have any advice or has this happened to anyone else?
