RelicCardinal.exe - system error - age or empires 4 is not starting due to missing file

Hey there. I tried to install AOE 4 yesterday evening, but when I tried to use it today it kept failing to start. Steam would say that the game is "Running", then switch back to "Play" under my library.

After a little troubleshooting I found that the reason the game won't start is that it needs a file called d3d12.dll which is apparently missing from my computer.
I was advised to re-install the game which I did.
The game is still giving me the same error and I ran the file integrity check under properties from my steam library.

Please confirm if there is a fix for this or if this is just a bug?

From what I can see it looks like the d3d12.dll is a library file that is supposed to be installed on your PC to get the game to run
I have collected a copy of the file and will be testing it this afternoon after I put it into the AOE4 install folder

Seems I am now missing an api-ms-win-core-heap-l2-1-0-dll as well

i get a similar issue game wont go past the first loading screen even if i close it the relic cardinal keeps on staying open doesnt let the game to stop i deleted the game multiple times but still the same issue

This is very random, I had it like 4 times (each time a patch appeared) then fixed it by verifing files but will probably come back....

Sometimes is just about trying it many times.... like open.. gives the error, open taskbar, close the process when it appears, try to relaunch... etc... do it until it launches.. it takes some time but well its better than try to restart, that is how I ended opening it.

Its being blocked by your AntiVirus software. Allow it and the game will run !
