Aoe 4 DLC still locked after being gifted
Hello everyone, I am having problem with the DLC still locked after being given by my friend. I tried to re-activated the dlc through steam but still locked, reinstalled the game.

I want to ask if anyone have found the solution because I have seen quite a few people got dlc locked after buying as well but no solution was found.

I faced the problem a couple of weeks ago and it seems like I have found a solution for this. This worked for me and for a friend of mine.

Follow these steps (consider doing it at your risk and only if nothing else helped):

1. If the game is not closed, close it.
2. Go to "Steam support" → "Age of Empires IV" → "Age of Empires IV: The Sultans Ascend", click "Remove It permanently from my account".
3. Open the game and get to the main menu. Then close the game.
4. Delete the game and the game files folder on your system disk (in "My games" folder).
5. Go to "Steam support" → "Age of Empires IV" → "Age of Empires IV: The Sultans Ascend", click "It's not in my library" → "Restore the previously removed package to my account".
6. Install the game (make sure the DLC is marked in the DLCs list).
7. The DLC content should be unlocked.

Probably you can skip the uninstall/install part, but you definitely must remove/restore the DLC via Steam support to solve the problem.

Seems a few people have had issues around being gifted the DLC, you might want to submit a ticket to Steam Support.

sounds like this wont be the case if more that one person is effected but have you checked too see if its installed? sometimes when i have bought a dlc/expansion pack it does not install automatically

Steam won't refund the DLC because there was over 2 hours played... But that is IMPOSSIBLE because the DLC isnt working....... So how exactly was there over 2 hours of playtime. Ohhhhh wait.... Steam is including time played on Age 4 itself as well....... Get capital F'd Steam.

make sure its ticked in the dlc section under game properties. try contact steam otherwise or relic support.

Hello friends, my account region used to be Argentina and I had no problem buying games, now my region has come to Europe and because of sanctions in my country {I live in Iran} I can't buy games, now I want to buy the new age of empire 4 DLC, if anyone can tell me I will give him a couple of skins

when u move to new region u can switch your store by using a payment method from the new region. so say u moved to EU, you can use a credit/debt card from the country u live in and the store should switch. u can also contact steam support.

My current DLC status is still locked. I am currently in contact with both Xbox official support and Steam, and the matter is still being processed. It has not been resolved yet.
