Most Fantasy ignores Polearm troops for anything but Hero units or lategame Infantry, but Spear and Pike troops would be the best thing to fight Ogres and Orcs, not Swords.
Did EA let people download it for free at some point? They did abandoned it, like many other titles.
EA holds the title, burt neither re-releases it in any capacity, nor is it abandonware you can download.
Funny, because it was the closest to a true successor to the Warcraft 2 and Starcraft Brood War formula, we ever got, the graphics still hold up, and if EA would release it again, perhaps with some expansion, it would grab all the people unsatisfied with the state of Warcraft.
Blizzard massively dropped the ball, EA has a golden opportunity, yet they do not grab it.
AoX the best Warcraft/Starcraft clone RTS game! Took back the emphasis from heroes and had bigger scale battles again but still the gameplay of the 90s. I really wanted to see the expansion but sadly the game didn’t sell well and was overshadowed by Dawn of War 1 among other big RTS around that time.
It was overshadowed by Battle for Middle Earth, which not only internal competition (also an EA game) but was tagged along the world famous LotR IP, and riding on the success of the movies.
DoW1 was much too simplistic (indeed almost a mod for Warcraft 3) to compete with Exigo. It was EA who killed, by not advertising, as they put more stock into the BfME franchise.
What is shocking, is that now that they lost the rights to both LotR and Star Wars, they are still sleeping on top of a big Fantasy IP, that could bring EA that big and disappoint Warcraft RTS crowd, that have not had a game like it in decades, and yet EA let's the money escape through their fingers.
There is a HUGE hunger for expertly crafted C&C and Warcraft-style RTS games, and no one out there to meet it.
AoE already proved that classic RTS does well, if it is good. Exigo is good.
Paintings of her, some of which when she was still alive, and the English Court records, because she was trialed by them.
There is actually quite a bit of documentation on Jeanne, she was a blonde, skinny, short teenage girl.

Nope she was not Blond hair at lest not according to the written descriptions we have from people who met her. Every single one said she had Black (maybe it very dark brown) hair cut similarly to that of the male pudding-basin style.
Its seems that her light brown hair colour is a side effect of artist lightening her hair colour to make her stand out from the background.
As for blonde I never seen a version of her with blonde hair outside of the film called the messenger and the Japanese anime Fate.

There are no "contemporary paintings" of her.
