eh no we comparing the content the game offers and its not our fault that a daaaaaaamn old game offers more.
you people need to stop blaming nostalgia and open your eyes why people are not happy.
Aoe4 outside of graphics is LESS then AOE2 or maaaaaaaaany of the other reeealy OLD RTS games like Cossacks or supreme commander or Strongold Crusader and the list just goes on forever.
Aoe 4 mechanics and content wise is dated and surpassed by really old games. including Aoe 2.
Of course the people are not happy... hell even allot of the AOE fans are not happy at all.
After Age of Empires 4 people will forget about the franchise and move on. Relic simply f'd up. After CoH 3 people will forget about that franchise as well and move on. Why? Because both games are Xbox games designed for a console, and Relic simply got lazy and stopped caring, or they fell under new retarded management.
No one at microsoft expected AOE2 to be so beloved. Im sure a decent amount of cash was made selling dlc for a decades old game. I forsee the same for this game.
Expect 8+ years of DLC Expansions introducing new factions. As this will be a game for pro gamers, there is no way they will release a new AOE within the next 8-10yrs. Pro games for pro players wont be taken seriously if they dont have staying power. Its a big reason yearly release games like COD or Battlefield with leader boards are irrelevant and dont have a huge pro scene.
They built a solid foundation with which to build on. Its clear they are in this for the long haul.
We may get spinoffs though using the same engine/mechanics. Like age of mythology.
If anything i wouldnt count on an AOE5. But more so on whatever spinnoff they decide to birth from all this work they done.
Hell, anyone remember that starwars galactic battlegrounds game that was basically a starwars mod for age of empires 2 but was an actually fully released sold in stores on a cd with jewlcase game? Expect a few spin offs made from the bones of aoe4. Count on it.
I'm counting on Age of Empires 4 to be a failure because that's what it is. We all played the 3 day beta man you aren't fooling anyone. The graphics are dumbed down, blurry, and washed out colors. Very little graphics settings, which is a Number 1 indicator it's an Xbox game that was ported over for PC. A console could easily run this game.
Oversized weapons? Horrible Zoom camera out and in? Whatever I'm over it, it's an Xbox game and so will be COH3. Greed and money is far more important these days than actually creating a good game.
They're not going to switch over, old timer. This game doesn't add anything new, just takes a lot of ♥♥♥♥ away.
