"Make it Quick" achievement: Win a Landmark victory in the Dark Age.

The global statistics have that 1.0% of players have earned this achievement. I guess I want to know how. I just won a dark age victory as the Mongols, placing my town center next to the enemy's, and then systematically eliminating all their villagers. But I didn't get the achievement. Guess I should have left at least villager alive and concentrated on burning down their town center?

I don't think this is the problem. Maybe your opponent needs to be in dark age as well as you? Try go vs easy AI, high resources and just build barracks with all villagers except one for houses. Get like 20-30 barracks and spam spearmen on your opponent base(or MaA if english even better) and just kill the AI you should be done in like less than 4 mins if you do this and get the achievement.

I think its because the developers wisely thought of it and decidet, that mongol TC-rush abusers dont deserve any achievements!

I tore down the town center with battering rams. Abbasid can build them in Dark Age.

It requires your opponent not surrender, because that's a different victory type.

And killing off all his villagers with a TC rush probably would make him surrender. Or ragequit.

Ah c'mon! It's a valid strategy, although I would never use it except in this achievement scenario.

I have done this on my second game.
In my first game I went english vs english. Both has man-at-arms and it did not went well.
Than I realized, wait french has only spearman which are weaker on man at arms
So second game my man-at-arms vs french spearmans and I won in dark age at no big problem.

Did you actually get a Landmark victory, or did the enemy resign? I tried this Dark Age Landmark victory scenario a few times, using different civs. I tried English, French, Mongols -- no luck attacking the enemy TC with spearmen from any civ I tried; they just got killed too quickly by the TC without doing hardly any damage. If you keep at it long enough then the enemy advances to Feudal Age and starts creating large armies that can wipe you out quickly.

So, it is my belief that putting 2/3 of your Mongol settlers on wood & the other 3rd on food, then spamming spearmen & then have the spearmen spam 2-3 rams is the way to go.

You need to actually get a Landmark victory. Also it doesn't matter what Age your opponent in.
