In my first game I went english vs english. Both has man-at-arms and it did not went well.
Than I realized, wait french has only spearman which are weaker on man at arms
So second game my man-at-arms vs french spearmans and I won in dark age at no big problem.
So, it is my belief that putting 2/3 of your Mongol settlers on wood & the other 3rd on food, then spamming spearmen & then have the spearmen spam 2-3 rams is the way to go.
