well i dont trust this company either,
but the same could be said about any big gaming company, these days..
Although this particular company is indeed (one of) the worst,
especially when it comes to monopolizing stuff,
and forcing people to buy "their" stuff, to then ruin said stuff...
But that doesnt really answer my question, though..
The question is rather if AoE4 is actually playable at the moment,
game performance wise, but also if people are (still) playing online,
and/or if the game is still getting frequent updates, to fix problems like this..
PS if there is some kind of boycott going on right now,
i am certainly willing to wait, or simply never buy this specific stuff. ;)
I haven't noticed any lag or performance issues whatsoever. The game is fun, and plays how you'd expect it to. I'd recommend buying it and trying it for yourself. You can always refund if you don't like what you get
always ? what a lie))
but its expected from salesperson like u
well if it working as it should, for you, without performance issues,
then my next question would be how good your computer is.
I just bought a new (gaming) laptop, with pretty decent specs,
but when looking at (recommended) system requirements, these seem very high,
so it is quite possible that the game wont work anyways..
And even if it would work, i am then worried that a future update
would increase the system requirements further;
this wouldnt be the first time this happened to me..
(in fact, i bought the new laptop exactly because
i want to play some other games that became unplayable due to some update..)
As for the steam refund system, this has never worked for me,
and even if it did work, refunds no longer work after 2 hours,
after that you could try contacting customer support,
which probably takes quite some time,
hence why i am asking here first: to save myself all the time and trouble..
Anyways, thanks for the replies so far,
i will think on it a bit more, i dont have to buy it right away.. ;)
If You want to play the game itself
It´s a classic RTS, with modern functions such as using Shift to assign multiple tasks, which saves time for the player.
Though I'd only suggest you get the game if you're looking for PvP. The AI, even on the hardest difficulties, is pretty inept. Didn't used to be, but a patch a few months ago ruined it.
Steam forums are known for immature toxicness cry babies.
Ask the same question on Reddit.
Referring the game it's the best it's ever been at and check my game hours in it so I should know.
Well id say that reddit isnt nearly as practical to ask a question like this,
compared to steam forums, mainly because it is just a few clicks away from the store page.
Why bother going to some other website/forum,
when you have an easily accessible forum right here?
I did just check reddit as well, and i saw "immature toxicness cry babies" there as well,
you will find these everywhere on the internet.. So why not just ask it here?
And what is so wrong with basing a decision to buy a 60+€ game,
on the input of the current player base, such as yourself? (i.e. "due diligence")
Isnt this better than impulsively throwing my money at microsoft?
(PS im not trying to insult you, just giving my opinion here..)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Anyways... If AoE4 really is "the best it's ever been at",
and everything works the way it should, (except for the AI, which sucks..)
thats all i really needed to know.
Thanks for the input, everyone! :)
