Honestly, for casual experience, AoE 3 DE is probably the best next to AoM.

doesnt play well. unique civs but the landmark system which is the default setting really ruins it. everything becomes an all or nothing base race. not really in the spirit of the previous games.

its worth it. The gameplay is stronger than all the previous

I you want to play with a fantasy heroe that is OP and has moba abilities in a age of empires game then this is the game for you otherwise you won't find any historical accruacy here.

Aoe 4 is the most user friendly age game to get into and game play is a lot more smoother then the other games. Theres way more players in aoe4 then 3. So you will get matched closer to someone at your skill level.

Custom Nomad games is one of the best game modes and good for new players to learn the game

AoE 4 is easier to get into. And more fun than AoE 3.

It's definitely a different game but you'll have crossover skills too. I love that so much about Age of Empires that they made games that are so different they can all have independent fanbases but have some crossover experience still too.

As someone who took a long break from this franchise I was surprised how fun 4 is, looks and plays good. It has a lot of quality of life improvements over previous games in the series.

I'm thinking about buying it but I'm worried because long ago I didn't like the overt radical quotes that the delhi and abbassid nations were doing. And because I don't like the concept of carrying hunts back to base in a strategy, its very bad design for unnecessary micro that shouldve never existed in a new game. Plus I think theres no way to defend a 2v1 amid a 4v4 game when 2 of the attackers are a delhi nation with rams
