In team ranked you play constantly with plat 1 players in your team, I have no idea why matchmaking give you plat opponents.
Btw I cant find any diamond opponents in your history...
I don't think you fully understood what I said. I am currently Silver (Real) However, I come across platinum-diamonds that look Silver. That's what I mean.
- Bad Matchmaking - If a player has been matchmaking too long (best estimates from pro players is ~2-3 minutes) It will begin searching for players outside of your skill level for the sake of finding a game. Not really a problem in 1v1 or 2v2 at most ranks. In 3v3 and 4v4, there isn't much you can do about this. Even if you back out of the matchmaker every 2 minutes, someone else higher/lower than you hasn't and you may be their opponent, anyway.
- Smurfs - They make new accounts to play with people below their rank. Sometimes, they quit games on purpose to keep their rank low so they can keep stomping worse players. This is a thing in every online video game. Since every game mode has skill-based matchmaking, these guys are everywhere. The more players, the more likelihood of smurfs.
- Booster groups - Players sometimes pay other players (but sometimes it's freely done) to boost themselves to a rank they like, usually Diamond. These boosters are on new/low level accounts to match against easier opponents and boost faster. They are common enough in ranked but not in quick play. Boosting is extremely rare and expensive in 1v1.
- Hidden MMR not matching true rank - Hidden MMR is different from the display rank you see as Silver, Gold, Platinum, etc. Hidden MMR determines your opponents. Sometimes, especially in team games, higher level players on a losing streak will match the hidden MMR of a lower level player on a winning streak.
Nah, I just understood you perfectly. My assumptions are based on their stats. You can check it yourself: match history, % winrate, highest rank ect. And they're not even close to being plat or diamond.
Smurfs and/or returning high rank players (who didnt reach their true rank YET) have a high win percentage with a low number of matches played or have a high rank obtained in previous seasons.
I think your problem with matchmaking is due to one obvious thing - only 13 games played. In fact, it happens that you can lose several games in a row, then you will come across weaker opponents, sometimes much weaker than you. And there may be several victories in a row. And more matches played, the clearer it is. The game keeps trying to get you to 50% winrate but matchmaking need some time, 13 matches is too early i think.
