mouse and keyboard is just an inferior way to game
They put a lot of work into making it play well with controller, so why not make that availabe on PC as well.
Sure, the genre works better with m&k.
But nowadays many players have their PCs set up like a console, hooked up to a nice big screen playing on the couch.
lmao. gaming is wasted on you
There wont be controller support, as messiah360 says, because what came out on xbox is a completely different game to the one on PC. They even presented it. They automate EVERYTHING on xbox, you barelly even have to be present in the room because the game is playing itself and they adjusted the AI so it mostly stands and looks at you. These are all needed because RTS is not actually possible on controllers in a way that makes sense. So they had to come up with this.
I dont really understand why, as i doubt more than a handfull of console users are tunning in for it. Its a shame microsoft can't actually commit to a pc only game. This bodes ill for their future with activision. Imagine giving Starcraft 3 the go ahead, but its some simplistic casualized console game. I hope not
one of the best features of PC gaming is you can use keyboard and mouse or just about any controller you want easily.
but the game says it is playable on steam deck... which uses a controller so it should be possible. i have also played other similar games with a controller, so it can certainly work.
Steam deck play.
Stop being pedant, this has no effect on you.
I played a bit of AoE2 on SX, it´s indeed a very different game compared to the PC versions.
But why not have two branches or two entirely different downloads on PC?
A merged version may be too complicated, but having a specific version for controller on PC, basicly PC Graphics with Console UI and systems, could work just fine.
Secondly, not everyone plays games competitively, some of us would just like to be able to lay on our couches/beds and be able to play using a controller, or on the steamdeck, and there's nothing wrong with that.
