RTX 4090

At max settings I have a lot of lag with the image. How is this possible ? i have an rtx 4090 and yet i can't play at max age of empire 4? all other games do. Regard. 4K monitor

u think games depends only on gpu ? when i play 4v4 my game starts to lag too with 10900k and 3060 ti fps drops to 50 sometimes, so i guess your cpu cant be way better than mine so its normal to lag

I heard AoE4 only uses 1 CPU threat, so many people with otherwise good CPU's could actually feel a lag. I get lag on water maps.

Processor is very important there, I no longer suffer lags since I changed for a i5-13400f. And still have my good old GTX 970.

CPU is more important for AoE 4.

I have a rtx 4080, rzen 5900x, 32 gb ram, game is installed on a samsung ssd. I get the same problem thats why i stopped playing this game

i run it no problem with my RTX 3060 ti and my ryzen 7 5800x3D, everything max settings no fps drop

Speaking of older GPUs, I'm playing the game on a 1080ti, in 4K. My CPU is an i7 7800X. The game works perfect with all settings high except for image quality set to medium, I don't really see a difference with that setting on high or medium. Just water maps that are not so fun to play because of scroll lag.

I think It just has to do with your PC setup as I can't really understand how some people with way stronger GPUs seem to experience lag while it works fine for me.

put it on exclusive full screen, close background apps. and make sure ur cpu is not thermal throttling. 11700k should be good for aoe 4. turn off vsync and cap frames to 120.
