Is there a map editor for this game, and is it a bit more user friendly?

Same here, having issues finding where mod/map editor is located. Any direction would be nice.

there is a map editor, u can find it in your game folder. its called essence editor, but i dont think its rly user friendly. there are some youtube tutorials but its still tricky

I liked to create maps in Age of Empires 2. But This one, it is not user friendly. I understand nothing in this "editor".

Custom maps are pretty easy with the layout tool. Best to start there. Theres a aoe4 modding discord channel. Has the most help if you need to ask any questions
