GMG Pricing error

Yesterday, the deluxe was on sale for $18 on GMG. It appears anyone who purchased it during this time is having their keys revoked. RIP.

I'm curious to see if it will kick us out of the game, or just revoke after shutting it down . . .

They also did for the original Warhammer Total War error from Gamersgate years ago. Bought the key on launch day for $6 was refunded and had the key revoked that next Monday.

I think if they revoked a huge chunk of keys, a good chunk of the player base for AOE4 will disappear. Maybe the publisher will take this at a loss, and allow us to keep the keys, just so this gets publicity that the game has an active player base. Especially since you can get this part of the GamePass (which I can, but I want it on steam out of principle at this point lol).

I played the whole singleplayer campaign and some skirmish, now they can revoke the key ;-) Strange that the keys still works. Maybe we not only got it cheap, we got it for free because of a double mistake^^

Ill just enjoy it while I still got it. If they take it away ill still complain and leave a negative review on Trust Pilot. If they never take it hey free game :)

You all can relax. I doubt that they will track any more keys and revoke them. Steam will probably let you know before they take action against anything that is in your library

It's very strange. Most people got notified via email that they are getting refunded and their keys revoked, suggesting that they already have a compiled list of AoE orders (and by extension, the keys). And they HAVE been refunded. So weird what's going on :/

Believing that Steam has any interest in you is a mistake, doubly so with regards to a 3rd party key.
If anything, it would come from Microsoft - possibly because they don't want the negative press, possibly because they can't identify specific keys within a batch. Maybe it's just something as simple as the 'key revoke guy' has got covid and has been off this week.
