Please add this hotkey, so many players use this hotkey from previous rts games.
I'm so confused how you have this hotkey in your other rts titles but not aoe 4.

hold the alt key while desired unit type is highlighted, all unit types of the same type on screen will be selected (same as in starcraft, not sure about otther rts's)

Yeah it's not the same, we're talking about constantly shift clicking reinforcing units from maybe like 10 production buildings and putting them into control groups, where in aoe 3 for example you press 1 key and all units of same type no matter where they are can be set into the control group. Double clicking is a worse version of the alt hotkey you described because having to pick out individual units with aoe 4's tiny hitboxes is just bad. You want pike in your control group 1? well you just selected an archer and goodluck putting all 20 reinforcing units into control groups during a fight or what else. Not having this hotkey worsens micro play and just enables dragbox micro gameplay.

Yes this is what ive been missing from the beginning. Alternatively all units from specified production building automatically are assigned to a specified control group, this would work well for me too.

That's one of the best hotkeys from AoE 3, I hope it eventually gets added.
