Where did the sale go??
So I enjoyed the free period and I was going to buy the game at 50% off. I saw that the deal was extended for some reason, so I was going to buy it today. Now the deal is gone? WTF?

I did. On the last day it suddenly changed from around 13 hours to "2 days". Came back the next day, deal was gone..

Hey don't feel too bad. I was going to buy the Age of Empires IV yesterday too on sale and when I went to buy the game the sale had completely disappeared from Steam even though it said it was on sale through August 29th.

It was really weird because I was still able to play the game for free yesterday but I couldn't buy it on sale. Go figure!!! Somebody messed up here.

It will probably go on sale again in Oct, either 15th or 25th. Microsoft is planning do something special on the anniversary of the franchise (15th), and they may do something special on the one-year anniversary of this game (25th) in addition to releasing two new civilisations (Ottoman and Malians).

Shame you didn't scroll forums when you had time, we warned you time is ticking. It was a good deal...

But truth is, you'd get bored pretty quick.. This game needs a year at least with the tempo they go by to make the game more interesting

I talked to Steam Support about this problem with the sale ending early on Age of Empires IV and they told me it not their fault and it is out of their control. The game publisher pull the sale early for some reason. It is out of Steam control to set up sales and discounts on games on Steam. That is nice to know who is at fault here.

^ This. I played 35 hours during the free period really giving it a good go to see what AOE4 is like. Not paying to buy it (even at 50% off) was the easiest decision I have ever made. The game is really boring and still feels incomplete (like an alpha version).

Glad to see it wasn't just my imagination or that I was going crazy.. 😅
Guess I'll just wait for the next time it's on sale at a reasonably price.. :P
