What is a good prelate to villager ratio for HRE?
Say you have 25 gold miners or 30 lumberjacks, how many prelates do you want with each group for optimal economy?

if i remember right, 8 vills is the max a prelate can buff at a time, and they gather 40% more resources. i don't play HRE though, i prefer rus.

I normally just do 1 prelate per resource node. Just put one near a mill and it'll buff all the vils that go by, stand a prelate at a mine and he'll do the same.

Also, I feel like, with 30 on lumber, you probably don't need to worry too much about microing a prelate. Just keep your lumbercamps close to the treeline, and park a prelate there.

The buff, iirc, lasts 30 seconds, so you don't really need that many prelates.

Speaking of prelates, do you find Aachen worth it in the long run for that aoe buff, or the 25% cheaper blacksmith is better overall?

when i played them a few times, i prefered the Aachen Chapel to buff my early gold and later my farms because it saved me from buying more prelates. and kick start my economy a bit.

Chapel is infinitely better imo in the long run. Place it near your first stone and gold mine, or gold and woods. So it will auto buff all workers in the area.

Then when you make farms later make them around the chapel.
I'd make 5 prelates max. If I went for Aachen, I'd only have two, one boosting my farm eco and one on a woodline.

Ideally late game I do about 3 prelates for gold, 4 for wood, 1 for farms (in the chapel), and 1 for stone.

With the tech they get in the castle age their influence boosts to 50%, so if you have 100 villagers, 9-10 prelates And the economy would be similar to having 140-150ish villagers? Assuming everything is running smooth.

Obviously thats overkill but just subtract accordingly if each prelate at max buffs 8 villagers at once.
