why is there no saving option for multiplayer?

makes no sense. I played it through Xbox PC game pass with my friend, and we both couldn't save the game. Why on earth am I forced to play until the end of the session? what if I have to go somewhere or do something..

we played with my buddy for 4 hours straight and while it was fun, we would have wanted to save because AOE type games take time and planning.

And what would be so wrong with that? I would have played for approximately 2 hours and then saved the game - but I can't. So we were forced to keep playing. We didn't even end the game, and we added A.I bots to the game to understand the game.

I didn't ask you to review my session hour time, I was asking why there is no saving option for multiplayer.

Yes, a save option in Multiplayer would be great. We are using it regularly in Age of Empires 2: DE

Still doesn't seem to be an option like this (or pausing) in Multiplayer. Does anybody, maybe a dev, have an update on this for us? I generally also have long play sessions (~2 hours) after which I'm either forced to quit or play at least 1-2 hours longer to somewhat finish my match. Really irritating.

imagine thinking dev cares enough to reply in this game, let alone actually implement anything community asks for. every beta suggestion was ignored and nothing has changed since. still no colour choice even though thousands of players have asked for it

Yes, not having this feature is terrible. Lots of other multiplayer games like SINS had it many years ago. Some nights I only get 2 hours to play so it really sucks.

Not everyone plays super competitive + something like a restore feature is basic. AoE 2 and 3 had that at launch.

Sorry but this has to be one of the most basic takes. Not saying you're in the wrong here but people like myself know perfectly well how the game works, we just don't want to haste things. Personally I'm playing with a family member or a friend (who also know how the game works).
After all, why wouldn't you be able to play it as a city builder if all other players you play with agree that, that it is the most enjoyable way to play the game? - I've seen A LOT of posts with people saying they want to play it as a city builder so why not open that up as an option?

There are more ways to Rome here.
I don't think anyone minds if people enjoy the game as is, however they do mind that the save option isn't there when they want OR NEED to make use of it. (Besides, what if you need to stop because of unforeseen circumstances after around 45 min of playing, would you like to delete all of your progress?)

4 hours is nothing most of the games I play with my dad are about 8 hours long in total, also It is bs that you cant save the game in multiplayer we were going to save the game until we saw that you cant and just finshed it off, at least I won at the end :)
