Watch a few Youtube videos of the game being played.
For one, Starcraft was a balanced game that had fundamental counters to every unit.
AoE4 is an unbalanced POS.
Starcraft factions are extremely different from one another. Why use Warcraft as the comparison? And no this game is NOT more like Warcraft 3 than Starcraft.
If you've only ever played Starcraft you've done yourself a disservice, there are loads of great RTS games out there. If you have access to Xbox Game Pass that can be a good way to try the game. Otherwise as others say look at some videos or streams of people playing it.
AOE4 isnt a bad game at all, just needs to go through the balancing steps that many other games we praise spent years going through. Starcraft used to be a heaping mess too.
I won't dive into the differences in game design between Sc2 and Aoe4, the most obvious being the "not so asymetrical" factions in Age of and the progression of technology in age of.
The main issue is that, for now, Aoe 4 is not finished; no way to customize hotkeys, unbalanced as hell, no map ban, no ladder, no patrol order, clumsy controls... Maybe it will eventually turn into something good, but you should definitively wait before going to try hard it if you're not an age of hardcore fan.
Asking to ignore the answers of others just to say "it's the same thing but actually no" how big is your ego ?
SC2 pros are currently playing AoE4...
yes
And ? you still lack the options to change hotkeys, to pause ingame, there is still no ladder and no map ban. I still think the game is unfinished in this state.
And if you love starcraft you might like AoE4 since all the starcraft pros seem to... that is the OP's question.
Still my point is there is bad things about the game that will hopefully be fixed. OP, be warned.
