Society score ?

What's up with the society score at the end of the game ?
I often have the most relics and villagers, with decent idle and lifespan times, but I ALWAYS end up at 150 in society score. It doesn't even matter if I win or lose.

It's not a big deal but I'm really curious if anybody has an explanation.

no one cares about society scores,
All I want is total kills, deaths. buildings lost and destroyed.
Nothing more

He is asking a question about what it is, not how you feel about it.

I don't know but I think it may have to do with villager upgrades and religious ones as well. I may be wrong.

Not that anyone really cares, but the society score is so broken. For example, in a recent game, I captured all of the relics (opponent had 0), I had the villager high, lowest idle time, and 3.5x the unit lifespan of my opponent, but my score was 1200 and my opponent scored 1930. Its really just laughable. I usually end up with a tie even though I have better numbers across the board, but it does piss me off a bit when I crush every category but get a lower score....
