MacBook’s Bootcamp low performance
The game takes forever to load multiplayer match, struggling with medium graphics on my MacBook Pro 16 2019 with 16gb ram, 4 gb GPU.

Games like Witcher 3, Fallout 4 run on almost max settings with no problems.

You may want to try and install the new AMD bootcamp graphics driver that came out a few days ago: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/apple-boot-camp

He is literally running Windows on Mac hardware, bootcamp isn't an emulator.
That MacBook Pro should be more than capable of running Age of Empire IV.
