How does Garrison work?
If i put 5 longbows in a town, castle, tower etc do those arrows do more dmg then putting in villagers etc? i can;t see dmg stats anymore on a building when i put a unit in it to see.

Related to this, I'm curious about the exact effects of the "Arrowslits" that you can add to buildings. Couldn't find any number for it in the UI.

Did anyone find an answer to this yet? Watching some pro macthes theres a number of occasions they dont garrison archers and it may be chance but I wonder if there is a reason

Yeah I wish they would add more tooltips for each upgrade.

as far as i know, any unit will be the same once garisoned, villager to longbowman.

the "arrow slit" upgrade just add an extra arrow being shot without needing anyone inside.

so 5 longbow, 5 men at arms or 5 villagers will all provide an extra 5 arrows?

I think so. If you have the arrow slit upgrade, 5 units will shoot 6 arrows.

I would think not garrisoning anyone is because the upgrades attack automatically, and otherwise it's kind of a waste of 5 population. Also garrisoning villiagers marks them as idle, so if you're trying to check for people with nothing to do you would have to cycle through any outposts or keeps.

From my understanding garrison villiagers is only good to save them from a rush attack.

I found that really annoying. There should be an indicator for garrisoned villagers, just as thee should be one for active traders next to the gold indicator.

That whole point of putting towers near farms, mines and forests - so they could escape into safety and kill the enemy from inside. If placed right, then there always will be at least 2 building attacking them(at least in first few ages, where you base is pretty compact) and you still using the starting ressources and not the ones that are further away from your village center.
