Mouse button pan implementation is wrong
I know most people use edge-pan, but what I am talking about is pressing the middle mouse button to pan the camera around instead of using edge-pan. The benefit is less mouse movement needed to pan around (or at least it should be...).

The problem is that, in this game after panning around, your mouse cursor reappears at the exact position where you first clicked. Not where your mouse is currently at. That means that after every mouse-button-pan, you have to lift your mouse and bring it back to the original position. Which makes it pretty useless.

Example: You start with mouse on the left side of screen -> you press and move mouse to the right -> screen moves to the left -> you stop pressing and moving -> now your mouse is phisically on the right, but your cursor is on the left -> !?

Look at dota 2 or some other "top down" games for a normal implementation. I hope they can patch that pretty quickly. At least make it an option.

Yeah I noticed this right away too, feels odd. I'm starting to get used to it a bit, but having an option for regular pan behaviour would be nice

The failure is that the mouse dont move when panning. No game does this.

Agreed, this is quite annoying. Cursor position should lock to map position when dragging.

I have this problem too. Hoping they fix it soon.

I just started Company of Heros 2 the first time, which is also a game by relic.
Same issue

I think it feels just right, you click and drag the map to the right side with the mouse, in order to see more of the left side of the map for example. Click and drag, simple as it is.

And then you have to lift your mouse in order to bring it back.
I dont know any other game, which uses this system

Allmost as bad as the Drag system in Age2DE where you controll the accelleration instead.

Yeah that's not the problem and is working correctly. The problem is that the mouse cursor stays in exactly the same spot, even though you phisically move your mouse. So every time after moving your mouse you have to lift your mouse to bring it back instead of just moving it normally.

Dota2 has a normal implementation and is free2play on steam if anyone doesn't get the problem.

Can't believe that after 3 years and lots of people asking for this, they still haven't implemented this. Could have just been a small toggle in the settings..

Yeah, and i played the company of heros. Same problem. It really ruins the user experience.

Would like to see right click dragging (like AOE 1, 2, and 3) instead of scroll wheel click dragging (like Starcraft). And, the current scroll wheel middle click is inverted compared to normal functionality like StarCraft.

Yeah like most games

I've reported this in the beginning. They don't care.
